Oak Bed - Winter

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java.

Because of our 8 to 9 month-long growing season, most of my beds have many more evolutions of blooms than can be portrayed in only 3 or 4 photos. This bed is rife with short color spells from summer and fall blooming bulbs to be enjoyed from the front porch swing or living room window. January provides a modest bit of snow drops (Galanthus) that fail to proliferate as the books warn and there are a few crocus for February. I have begun some hellebore roots (H. orientalis) to join the jonquil parade, which takes it to April azaleas.
