Pecan Bed - Spring

Having bought a cheap bag of daffodils labeled as the nearly- white `Ice Folliesī, I got what I paid for. The cheapies turned out to be yellow.

The Magnolia soulangiana will be kept to an understory size below the pecan tree, located just outside this frame to the right. His trunk shadow hits the fence above the bird bath, that I have yet to keep level - thanks to the cats. They think it is a cat bath.

Posed as though partaking of the murky water, is one of the many hedgehogs in this garden -- the kind that donīt run away. I carried this one home from a garden touring trip in England. Needless to say, the weight of my hand luggage on these trips is embarrassing (and crippling).
