The red and white pansy and yellow ranunculus behave as only cool season annuals in this climate, allowing for yearly variety while the old yellow iris and hardy (here) amaryllis (Hippeastrum x`Johnsonii´) are permanent. Foliage to the right is of the native `Michealmas daisy´ aster that performs a lavender bed in fall.
