Gail, I agree with every word you say about" I love to garden", especially the possibility of the re-banning section.

Dogwood Gardens
David, Now, that was a response I should have expected! I would imagine we would like them banned for different reasons though....have you got a website we need to visit?
I was trying to figure out what David H was on about - thought there was something in Gail's pages that I had missed - couldn't imagine what. Now I seeeee ...... the 're-ban' is from her intro... and I can't stop giggling!!!
I don't think I am going to touch the 're-ban' issue....I mean....Not that I would or I wouldn't mind you.....I think i will stop while I am behind.......
What behind?
;:-0
Gail, this is starting to get more body parts than the compost calypso thread!
My husband is going to think I joined an XXX site...he'll be sooooo glad! But we won't get into that discussion.............plants, plants, plants, everyone focus!
Yes, It is spring!! We need to think of the beautiful flowers like Cosmos,Datura,Stuttgart Canna and don't forget the COCKSCOMB!!!!!
Oh I forgot plants, plants, plants.............
Gail started this with her honest, upfront intro line. And now David B, you have tempted me beyond restraint to post this. Anyone ever grown the 'butterfly vine'? - named after the shape of its really neat lavender blue flowers - Clitoria ternatea.
My pooooor hubby....he's never enjoyed flowers but now even HE's got a want list! I guess I should thank you guys!
Maggie, I'm sure you are right about the different reasons. I apologize to you and Gail for starting such a ruckus. Let me say for myself and hopefully for David B. it was fun the while it lasted. Now back to Organics and herbs as far as Gail and I are concerned. Down the list you mentioned "butterfly vine' Could it be the Butterfly bush, Budvelia. It has a purple spiked flower. It resembles, and could be in the salvia or sage family. I have it all over my Herb Garden. Butterflies go crazy for it. It's actually a bush but it is very invasive. almost as 'runnersome as a vine'
David, I soooo wish you'd pot up some of those purple buddlia and bring them to The Swap! I've got the white one and love it, but would love a purple one.
No David H., not the buddleia. The rude sounding clitoria or 'butterfly vine' was actually named after a female body part by Linnaeus. Someone brought me one from CA once. The new plant had only one seed on it, which mysteriously disappeared after a tour group went through. Being a tropical, it acts as annual here. I didn't dig it up for winter and have been meaning to get seed again for years. Found some in one catalog - very overpriced and I was too cheap to order it! It really is a beautiful bloom, grows like morning glory, and takes as long to flower from seed.
Good idea 'bout the swap Gail. David has tons of treasures he could bring. In fact, he could even set up shop there if he wanted (if he brings you a b bush!;-)
Maggie and Gail. I wish there was a way I could manage to be there for the plant swap. I would love to meet everyone in person. I just this week purchased a new greenhouse and all new equipment. It will be here soon and I must remove the debris of the old one. Also I have two tours between now and May 4th that I must prepare for. Gail, I'll see to it that you have a Buddleia. Between the three of us,we'll find a way to get you one. Thanks for the invite.
Gail, are you familiar with the wasp,
Incarsia Formosa. It is an almost invisible wasp from (ex-)Formosa that successfully destroys whiteflies in my greenhouses. If you are not familiar with them, I would gladly share the information with you. Everyone go out and enjoy this great spring day.
I LOVE the invisible wasps. I especially like the way they glisten in the sunlight...but I'm sure there are readers out there who haven't heard about the benefits of having them around the garden/greenhouse...so, it would be great for you to share your knowledge with everyone. Good luck with the new greenhouse set up. I was sorry to hear that a storm has mussed-up your previous one(s). When are and where are your tours? Are they open to the general public?
