Ok ... here's some space for questions, comments or complaints about GAIL'S GIVERNY,,, and no more Monetmoaning ;-)
Well done, Maggie! I thoroughly enjoyed sipping my morning coffee while strolling through Monet's gardens. How inspiring! The final product was well worth the wait.
I love you soooooo much, Maggie! Thank you!
I was telling my son about my morning stroll through Monet's gardens, when he said, "Don't you mean 'scroll'." ....... Don't you love it?
Well I got here Maggie eventually, but cannot get to your Monet's Gardens....not fair everyone else can see it... :-(
Will try again in the morning when hopefully the lines are less busy, taken me over 30 mins to get here.
Maggie, one of my mom's best friends has already strolled/scrolled thru Giverny. She is a world traveller, and just loved it. Of course, she is a beginner on the computer so I had to walk (no pun intended) her through getting to the site, i.e. see all those leaves on the right side of the screen, now click on the down arrow..... I didn't mind, of course, just happy she got to it.
Whew. After all that teasing, pressuring, ribbing, riding, moaning and cheerleading, I sure was glad to hear you guys liked it! THaNKS oxoxo! We had found the most wonderful music for the stroll-scroll (love that one C), but with all the putor problems, I went ahead and published it without the extra complication. I'll tell yous one thing ... I'll never promise you guys a rose garden or anything - anymore ;-)
Just checking Carolyn's instructions before I try again...hmmmm...green leaves, Ah that's what they are for... :-)
Got it eventually, not read it yet, but just popped back to say it's the Topics-Virtual Stroll-Monet's Giverny Gardens that brings up the screen with heading only and no article, so I really must thank Carolyn for the instructions on the other route to France *blushes*
Oh, now I see - you were going to the forum 'topics'. I did that to make way for any other possible (stress that *possible*) future articles from France. Don't hold your breathe ;-)
A wonderful piece Maggie, thoroughly enjoyed it, just one complaint, what can I rib you about now??
Did you see that bamboo Gail, wasn't that something?
That tree peony flower was a size, like an enormous carnation.
The Wisteria on the bridge reminded me of the other weekend when I was perched at the edge of my roof cutting mine back.
You sure you didn't just make up that little girl Maggie, must have made your day to see her there.
A contented gardener in a dream garden, captured by the camera, you sure were Maggie.
Well, let's see Terry, you could tease me about that extra 'e'. Ya'll can breathe, just don't hold your breath ;-).
Thinking of you swinging off the roof top to contain wisteria gives me confidence you will handle the Kiftsgate just fine!
Wasn't that Linnea incidence just the best! They were such gleeful warm folks.
You are right about being me being 'contented', I was in Monet's house, in a room plastered with Japanese woodcut prints, looking out
over the garden in that pic. A fellow visitor (a stranger to me) just walked up and said 'You look so happy sitting there, would you like me to take your picture' - that must be a first! And I was so peaced out, that it even overrode the fact that I was suffering from walking pneumonia and still managed to not miss a thing. Three days later, after chunneling back to London then flying back home, I couldn't get off the bed for weeks. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing!
Terry, what did you think about the "ghost" at the pond? I spotted that figure right away....me, who couldn't find the dogs in MK's photos, but thought it was probably Maggie poking around the garden. Then when I zoomed in on it, that was pretty freaky.
Maggie, what's the story on the ghost anyway?
It's your photographer, isn't it? I spotted him too before zooming in but thought at first maggie had superimposed a scanned photo of Monet but looks to be a twin who was seeking a resting spot.
No Gail, its not. This guy kept appearing and disappearing all the through the garden - I couldn't have gotten a good shot of him if I had tried. It was spooky. We didn't see him in the pic until it was scanned in and on screen. Wish the pic was more detailed because his clothes were even of Monet era! Guess I just happened to be there on the right day - when Linnea and Monet wannabes were both there!
I just had to look at "the ghost" again. I don't know....it could be the old guy himself. I'd rather not push my luck with you guys today, after my mean political commentary, but let me just say that the garden looks "heavenly" to me!
I thought the photographer Gail, and yes Carolyn I saw him before looking at the close up, must just be a blind spot for dogs we have. When I did see the close up I thought Maggie had somehow stumbled on wormhole or a rip in the space time continuum. You should have got his autograph Maggie, preferably on a painting.
Now I've got the chills! That's amazing, Maggie.
