Found that spring pic of another broken pot in the border. This one earns its keep by holding up the Tiger Lilies which get so top-heavy in bloom. Now they are dormant, I have dropped a pot of Aspidistra in the pot. Kool huh?
I wish this little plant could live through our summers to spread itself as a ground cover. Instead I just treat myself to a little pot of it during the cooler seasons. It is like a mint-scented baby-tears and known as 'Corsican Mint' Mentha requienii.
The mini bird bath is perfect for helping to keep its roots wet between waterings or rains. The tag claims it to be a reproduction of an early salesman sample and is made of Roseville clay in Ohio - same as the famous older collectibles that Angie specializes in.
Is it glazed down to the base, Maggie, looks as though it could be? I know the bath part would have to be to stop the water soaking away.
Love 'em both!
Thanks Gail. There's also a white-glazed baby bird bath in the gnomes garden and no, I don't need to get rid of any of them ;-)
It's weird stuff Terry, which is fired with a very matte glaze that looks like none at all when its dry. The shiny surface is from that wet stuff that keeps falling from the sky this week. It is of two separate pieces just like the big boys, which is handy for cleaning or storing. The clay color is very similar to that of this matte glaze, so that chips don't show as much as they do on the white one.
Did you say rid of them? Hmmmm, just leave 'em by the tools.
